The Beck Group is seeking a Scheduler with an advanced skill set to join the Beck Centralized Scheduling & Planning team and lead the scheduling efforts in our Atlanta, Georgia Region.

Job Duties:

  • Build and translate project scope and contract requirements into working schedules
  • Work effectively with owner, project team, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Technical advisor with respect to schedule development, updating, and reporting
  • Work with others to develop and maintain two, three and/or six-week look-ahead schedules
  • Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project teams
  • Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project teams
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in the developing alternate methods for corrective action
  • Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
  • Maintain record of scope changes, trends, and variances that potentially affect schedule performance
  • Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule
  • Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule
  • Analyze schedules from A/E firms, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Verify schedule integrity and evaluate logic and float paths
  • Evaluate activity sequences for constructability
  • Make recommendations to manage float and (re)sequence activities (if required) to achieve project milestone dates and interim target completion dates
  • Analyze and produce deliverables to support change order requests, schedule recoveries, and potential claims.
  • Perform job-site walks to verify physical progress of scheduled activities
  • Facilitate project scheduling meetings and/or interactive planning meetings as required by the project team.
  • Participate in project meetings at the discretion of the project manager
  • Participate in departmental staff meetings
  • Comply with departmental scheduling practices and procedures
  • At the completion of the project, develop and record the project's historical schedule information and lessons learned‚ for future use
  • Assist with last planner process as implemented on the job




  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering
  • 5-10 years construction experience
  • 3-10 years construction scheduler experience with primary focus in commercial projects
  • Thorough understanding of technical requirements for operating and maintaining Primavera and Synchro Scheduling Software
  • Complete understanding of the project lifecycle from design to pre-construction to project closeout and turnover.
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to handle critical issues, analyze the schedules, and create reports to communicate issues.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.  Must be able to interact and communicate to a wide range of customers.
  • Provide team with decision support and tracking reports
  • Knowledge of application LEAN practices (e.g. last planner system)
  • Manage CPM scheduling, Time Impact Analysis and identify and advise management on the various types of delays.

 System Understanding: 

  • 4D – 5D BIM applications
  • Includes understanding of how to utilize 3D Modeling software like Revit and Sketchup for use in the proper development of 4D-5D applications.
