Beck's sustainability services group offers a full suite of sustainable design consulting services, including LEED, WELL Building Standard, and the City of Dallas' International Green Construction Code (IgCC).  Our highly skilled team has established itself as a LEED Proven Provider and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager Partner.  Additionally, we provide energy & daylight analysis and sustainability reporting, including the AIA 2030 Commitment and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).  Because of our commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030, our team of energy modelers provide analysis on all of our design projects to achieve the highest level of building performance.

 Job Description:

The Sustainability Manager/Energy Modeler will provide support to the Sustainability Team managing LEED and non-LEED projects to meet Beck's sustainability objectives.  The position requires the ability to produce high quality LEED documentation in a timely manner and coordinate with owners, consultants and other team members through certification.  The position will entail working closely with design teams to analyze the efficiency of building envelopes, HVAC and lighting systems from schematic to construction document phases to meet the requirements of LEED, AIA 2030 Commitment and city mandates such as IgCC.  It also includes the ability to lead project meetings, prepare presentation materials and communicate goals and strategies in a clear manner. The candidate must have strong project management and time management skills and be able to draw connections between detail-oriented tasks and the bigger picture.


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field: engineering, building science, or related discipline of study
  • Experience with energy modeling software simulation programs (e.g., TraneTrace, IES, Carrier HAP, eQuest)
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, loads, and controls
  • Knowledge of standards, codes, and rating systems associated with sustainability and energy performance
  • Knowledge and understanding of energy modeling process Minimum 2 years of experience working on LEED projects and proven track record of successful LEED project administration
  • Proficient with LEED NC, C&S, CI, EB: O&M, Healthcare v2009 & understanding of LEED version 4, WELL Building Standard, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and International Green Construction Code (IgCC)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam Revu or other pdf editing software
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCad, Photoshop
  • Passion for sustainability and green buildings
  • Supports the design/build delivery process
  • Detail oriented with the ability to see the big picture
  • Highly collaborative & organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Active involvement in a local or national sustainability organization
  • LEED Accreditation, LEED AP with Specialty strongly preferred
