Sustainability at The Beck Group:

Beck's sustainability services group offers a full suite of consulting services, including LEED, WELL, Fitwel, SITES, Parksmart and green construction codes.  Our highly skilled team has established itself as a LEED Proven Provider and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager Partner.  Through an integrated holistic approach, we provide energy efficiency analysis, Life Cycle Cost Assessment (LCCA), solar studies and financial incentives for building energy efficiency.  As a signatory of the AIA 2030 Commitment, we report our project's annual Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and our firm's emissions through the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

What you bring to the table

Beck is looking for a talented Senior Building Energy Modeler to join an extraordinary team at our Dallas Headquarters. The Energy Modeler will work within the Sustainability team to achieve the highest level of building performance. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking and analytical skills and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

The job involves the following essential functions:

  • Produce high-quality energy modeling documentation and coordinate with team members, owners, and consultants.
  • Work closely with design teams to analyze the efficiency of building envelopes, HVAC, and lighting systems through all phases of the project.
  • Lead project meetings, prepare presentation materials, and communicate goals and strategies in a clear manner.
  • Strong project management and time management skills are required to draw connections between detail-oriented tasks and the bigger picture.

Who we think will be a great fit

A person with an advanced understanding of building energy efficiency, a passion for getting things done, a positive attitude, and possess uncompromising authenticity and integrity. You will also meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field: engineering, architecture, building science, or a related discipline of study
  • Must have 5-10 years' experience as an energy modeler using software simulation programs (e.g., Open Studio, TraneTrace, Carrier HAP, eQuest)
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, loads, and controls
  • Knowledge of standards, codes, and rating systems associated with sustainability and energy performance
  • Must have experience with LEED and code compliance models
  • Proficient in Revit, Sketchup, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Highly collaborative & organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands:

Frequently required to sit, stand, and move about the office; frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; may lift and move up to ten pounds; constantly communicates with project teams, Beck employees, and external vendors; ability to adhere to timely and consistent attendance.
